National Testing Agency JEE Main Exam Date, Pattern, Preparation Tips 2020

NTA will conduct JEE Main twice and in Online mode only. The first exam will be in the month of January 2020 and the second one will be in the month of April 2020.NTA will conduct JEE Main 2020 twice and in Online mode only. The first exam will be in the month of January 2020 and the second one will be in the month of April 2020. In this article, we will tell you what to expect this year in NTA JEE Main 2020 with the new conducting body, NTA in the scene. Now, JEE Main 2020 Exam will be conducted first in the month of January 2020 and then in April 2020. The application process for the January 2020 exam will start from September 01, 2018. Prakash Javadekar, Union Minister of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has announced the same at a press conference on July 07, 2018.

NTA JEE Main 2020 Exam Pattern

There are minor differences in the JEE Main paper 1 and paper 2.
Common rule: 4 marks will be granted to the candidate for the correct answer, but any wrong answer will lead to a deduction of 1 mark.

NTA JEE Main paper1 (for B.E., B.Tech):
  • There will be a total of 90 questions, 30 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • The paper will be of 3 hours.
  • It will be an objective type question paper.
  • Students can give the paper either via offline mode or online mode.
NTA JEE Main paper2 (for B. Arch, B. Planning):
  • Paper will consist of two parts:
  • Part 1- 30 questions from mathematics
  • Part 2- 50 question from the Aptitude test
  • And 2 question in drawing
  • Only the drawing part will be subjective, but the rest of the paper will be objective type.
  • The paper will be of 3 hours.
  • The paper will be available in offline mode only.

To prepare efficiently for the examination, candidates must make sure that they go through all the below-listed preparation tips and qualify the examination with a good score.

Join Entrance Examination Result 2019

JEE Main 2019 result for paper 2 will be declared in the month of May 2019. Recently, MHRD ministery has made some major changes regarding JEE Main exam. As per the new changes, JEE Main exam will be conducted twice each year by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in online mode from the year 2019 onward. Though NTA JEE Main Result 2019, the candidates will be able to check All India Rank and category-wise rank, section-wise marks, and the cutoff score for JEE Advanced 2019. Based on marks obtained by the candidates in JEE Main 2019, the candidates would be qualified for JEE Advanced, admission in Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs). The candidates scored lower rank will be disqualified for admission.

NTA JEE Main Merit List 2019

A merit list will be prepared by the concerned authority and will carry the names of all those candidates who have been shortlisted. The candidates listed on the merit list will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2019. Simply clearing the JEE Main 2019 does not ensure that the candidate will get admission in the IIITs, NITs, CFTIs.

Application Form of National Testing Agency 2019


NTA exam is conducted in two Papers Papers I for candidates interested in B. Tech and B.E and Paper 2 for candidates interested in B. Plan. NTA JEE Main 2019 will now be conducted in only the online mode. NTA will conduct JEE Main 2019 twice and in online mode only. The first exam will be in the month of January 2019 and the second one will be in the month of April 2019. For admission in IITs & ISM Dhanbad, students have to qualify both examinations, i.e. JEE Main and JEE Advanced. It will be conducted twice in a year by NTA. NTA JEE Main 2019 Application Form Release Date

The NTA JEE Main 2019 Application form will be released on the official website i.e. nta.ac.in on 1st September 2018. The registration procedure will be available till the 30th of September 2018. Candidates must first register with a valid email Id and other details. Candidate must note that only one application will be entertained per candidate. Candidate must also pay the application fee depending on the paper for which he/she is appearing and the category that/she belongs to. Only the correct information should be provided as the applications with incorrect or incomplete information will be held rejected.
Application Fee:
  • The application fee will be different as per the categories and mode of examinations. 
  • Fee payment will be done through credit/debit card. 
  • Candidates can also pay the fee through e-challan of Syndicate/Canara/ICICI bank. 
  • Fee will not be accepted through DD, money order, IPO, etc. 
  • The application fee will be non refundable. 

NTA JEE Main 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Before filling NTA JEE Main 2019 Application Form, candidates should ensure their eligibility. The eligibility criteria details are given here:

Attempts Limit:
The number of attempts for the JEE Main 2019 exam is 4 times.
Age Criteria:
Age Limit: Candidates should born on or after 1st October 1994.
Relaxation: For SC/ST/PwD categories candidates, 5 years age relaxation in upper age limit.
Qualification Criteria:
Qualifying Exam: Passed 12th or its equivalent examination in 2017 or 2018. 
Subjects: Passed the above exam with Physics & Mathematics (compulsory subjects) along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject.
Appearing candidates of 2019 can also apply.
